Facebook has started testing paywalls for Instant Articles on Android

It’s official: Facebook is all set to test news subscription models in partnership with a small number of firms across America and Europe.

The move, that is part of Facebook’s Journalism Project, is initially set to roll out on Android devices, and Facebook has said that there will be updates for the same soon.

“We’re listening to news publishers all over the world to better understand their needs and goals, and collaborating more closely on the development of new products from the beginning of the process,” said Facebook in a blog post.

The exercise is apparently designed to reveal how publishers can maintain control over pricing, offers, subscriber relationships and also get 100 percent of the revenue, which is critical to their businesses.
